A vertical Golden Age piece for LP browsing, 7-inch singles, open storage, and display.
James is part of Groovaly’s Golden Age Designs: a family of sculptural pieces inspired by the warmth, curves, and listening culture of the 1970s.
Designed as a vertical composition for vinyl collectors, James brings together Tilt, Split, Bloom, and Chest in a layered structure that combines record browsing, open storage, 7-inch storage, and display.
Instead of hiding records in tight shelves or closed storage, James brings them into the room. LPs remain visible, accessible, and easy to explore, while surrounding compartments create space for books, accessories, personal items, and everyday listening essentials.
At the base, Tilt keeps a generous LP selection visible and easy to browse. Records rest on a recessed base at the back of the module, creating the visual impression that they are lightly suspended. Press the top edge of a sleeve, and the records tilt gently forward, letting you view the cover without removing it from the furniture.
At the center, Bloom brings Groovaly’s signature browsing gesture into the composition. The drawer opens into a fan-like arrangement, allowing you to flip through your records like the pages of a book and recognize each album at a glance. The Bloom drawer features Groovaly’s patented browsing mechanism — FR2504530.
Alongside Bloom, Split adds two open compartments for books, storage baskets, small objects, or decorative pieces, keeping everyday items visible without closing them away.
At the top, Chest completes the structure with dedicated storage for 7-inch vinyl records, hi-fi accessories, personal items, or everyday objects. Its lower drawer includes three internal compartments proportioned for singles, while the upper shelf can host equipment, books, baskets, or display pieces.
Together, Tilt, Split, Bloom, and Chest make James a layered collector’s piece: a place to browse LPs, store 7-inch records, display objects, and give the collection a strong sculptural presence in the room.
Crafted from Valchromat with rounded forms and a carefully finished surface, James carries the distinctive character of the Golden Age Designs: soft geometry, tactile materiality, and a warm sculptural presence.

Wide leaning browsing module for approximately 180 LP records. Records rest on a recessed base at the back of the module and tilt forward when pressed, making album covers easier to view without removing them from the module.
Middle level — Split + Bloom
Split
Two open compartments for storage baskets, books, small objects, or decorative pieces.
Bloom
Signature fan-drawer for approximately 50 LP records. The Bloom drawer features Groovaly’s patented browsing mechanism — FR2504530.
Top level — Chest
Drawer-based storage element with three internal compartments proportioned for 7-inch vinyl records, holding approximately 300 singles. Chest can also be used for hi-fi accessories, personal items, or everyday storage. The upper shelf is suited for books, baskets, compact equipment, or decorative objects.

Material & Craft
James is designed in Paris and crafted in France and Portugal from Valchromat, a high-density wood-fibre material coloured throughout with organic pigments.
Unlike a simple surface finish, Valchromat carries its colour through the material itself. Its dense structure, velvety texture, and mineral matte appearance give James a quiet depth and a refined tactile presence.
As part of the Golden Age Designs, James is defined by rounded forms, sculptural volumes, and carefully finished edges. Each piece combines CNC precision, careful assembly, and a varnished finish designed to protect the surface while preserving the material’s soft, matte character.
Minor variations in tone, texture, or finish may occur due to the nature of the material and small-batch production. These variations are part of the character of the piece.

Additional finishes may be introduced progressively.

James is delivered as carefully protected, fully assembled elements.
The Bloom fan system is assembled at home using the included components and instructions.
For safety, wall fixing is strongly recommended for this three-level composition. The wall-mounting method is explained in the assembly instructions. Wall brackets, screws, and plugs are not included, as the appropriate fixing hardware depends on your wall type.
