Maceo is part of Groovaly’s Golden Age Designs: a family of sculptural pieces inspired by the warmth, curves, and listening culture of the 1970s.
Designed as a compact hi-fi cabinet for vinyl lovers, Maceo brings together Tilt and Chest in a clear two-level composition. It creates a dedicated place for LP records, 7-inch singles, compact equipment, accessories, and everyday listening objects.
Instead of hiding records in tight shelves or closed storage, Maceo brings them into the room. LPs remain visible, accessible, and easy to explore, while the upper section keeps equipment and smaller items close at hand.
At the base, Tilt keeps a generous LP selection visible and easy to browse. Records rest on a recessed base at the back of the module, creating the visual impression that they are lightly suspended. Press the top edge of a sleeve, and the records tilt gently forward, letting you view the cover without removing it from the furniture.
Above it, Chest adds dedicated storage for 7-inch vinyl records, hi-fi accessories, personal items, or everyday objects. Its lower drawer includes three internal compartments proportioned for singles, while the upper shelf can host compact equipment, books, baskets, or display pieces.
Together, Tilt and Chest make Maceo a focused Golden Age cabinet: a place to browse LPs, store 7-inch records, keep equipment within reach, and bring the ritual of choosing a record into everyday living.
Crafted from Valchromat with rounded forms and a carefully finished surface, Maceo carries the distinctive character of the Golden Age Designs: soft geometry, tactile materiality, and a warm sculptural presence.

Maceo unfolds as a two-level composition:
Base level — Tilt
Wide leaning browsing module for approximately 180 LP records. Records rest on a recessed base at the back of the module and tilt forward when pressed, making album covers easier to view without removing them from the module.
Upper level — Chest
Drawer-based storage element with three internal compartments proportioned for 7-inch vinyl records, holding approximately 300 singles. Chest can also be used for hi-fi accessories, personal items, or everyday storage. The upper shelf is suited for books, baskets, compact equipment, or decorative objects.
Together, these elements create a compact cabinet combining LP browsing, 7-inch storage, compact equipment, and everyday organization.
Material & Craft
Maceo is designed in Paris and crafted in France and Portugal from Valchromat, a high-density wood-fibre material coloured throughout with organic pigments.
Unlike a simple surface finish, Valchromat carries its colour through the material itself. Its dense structure, velvety texture, and mineral matte appearance give Maceo a quiet depth and a refined tactile presence.
As part of the Golden Age Designs, Maceo is defined by rounded forms, sculptural volumes, and carefully finished edges. Each piece combines CNC precision, careful assembly, and a varnished finish designed to protect the surface while preserving the material’s soft, matte character.
Minor variations in tone, texture, or finish may occur due to the nature of the material and small-batch production. These variations are part of the character of the piece.
