Thelonious is part of Groovaly’s Golden Age Designs: a family of sculptural pieces inspired by the warmth, curves, and listening culture of the 1970s.
Designed as a coffee table for vinyl lovers, Thelonious places the record collection at the center of everyday living. Low, generous, and sculptural, it brings together two complementary Groovaly elements: Tilt, a wide LP-browsing module, and Chest, a drawer-based element for 7-inch singles, accessories, and personal objects.
Instead of hiding records in tight shelves or closed storage, Thelonious keeps them visible, accessible, and naturally connected to the living room. It creates a place where choosing a record becomes part of the rhythm of the space — close to the sofa, close to the music, close to the moment.
On one side, Tilt keeps a generous LP selection visible and easy to explore. Records rest on a recessed base at the back of the module, creating the visual impression that they are lightly suspended. Press the top edge of a sleeve, and the records tilt gently forward, letting you view the cover without removing it from the furniture.
On the other side, Chest adds dedicated storage for 7-inch vinyl records, hi-fi accessories, personal items, or everyday objects. Its lower drawer includes three internal compartments proportioned for singles, while the upper shelf can host books, baskets, compact equipment, or decorative pieces.
Together, Tilt and Chest make Thelonious a sculptural coffee table with a clear purpose: a place to browse LPs, store 7-inch records, keep objects close, and bring the listening ritual into the center of the living room.
Crafted from Valchromat with rounded forms and a carefully finished surface, Thelonious carries the distinctive character of the Golden Age Designs: soft geometry, tactile materiality, and a warm architectural presence.

Thelonious brings together two complementary Groovaly elements in a low coffee table composition:
Tilt
Wide leaning browsing module for approximately 180 LP records. Records rest on a recessed base at the back of the module and tilt forward when pressed, making album covers easier to view without removing them from the module.
Chest
Drawer-based storage element with three internal compartments proportioned for 7-inch vinyl records, holding approximately 300 singles. Chest can also be used for hi-fi accessories, personal items, or everyday storage. The upper shelf is suited for books, baskets, compact equipment, or decorative objects.

Material & Craft
Thelonious is designed in Paris and crafted in France and Portugal from Valchromat, a high-density wood-fibre material coloured throughout with organic pigments.
Unlike a simple surface finish, Valchromat carries its colour through the material itself. Its dense structure, velvety texture, and mineral matte appearance give Thelonious a quiet depth and a refined tactile presence.
As part of the Golden Age Designs, Thelonious is defined by rounded forms, sculptural volumes, and carefully finished edges. Each piece combines CNC precision, careful assembly, and a varnished finish designed to protect the surface while preserving the material’s soft, matte character.
Minor variations in tone, texture, or finish may occur due to the nature of the material and small-batch production. These variations are part of the character of the piece.
