Alton
A Golden Age Record Stand
A sculptural record stand for generous LP browsing, visual lightness and everyday listening.
Alton is part of the Groovaly Golden Age Collection: a family of sculptural pieces inspired by the warmth, curves and listening culture of the 1970s.
Built around Groovaly’s Tilt module and raised on removable feet, Alton creates a light, sculptural record stand. It keeps a generous LP selection visible, accessible and easy to explore, while its upper surface can host a turntable, compact equipment, books or selected objects.
Instead of hiding records in tight shelves or closed storage, Alton brings them into the room. A generous selection of LPs remains within sight, ready to browse whenever the moment feels right.
At the centre of the piece, Tilt keeps the collection visually present without making it feel heavy. Records rest on a raised rear base, creating the impression that they are lightly suspended. To browse, simply press the top edge of a sleeve: the records tilt gently forward, making the cover easier to see without removing it from the piece.
With its clean horizontal proportions, rounded Golden Age form and elevated stance, Alton creates a calm sculptural presence: a simple, focused piece for browsing records and bringing the ritual of choosing a record into everyday living.
Crafted from White Pearl Valchromat with rounded forms and a protective matte finish, Alton carries the distinctive character of the Golden Age Collection: soft geometry, tactile materiality and a warm sculptural presence at a compact scale.
Because life’s too short to miss a groove.
Architecture & Capacity
Alton is built around one Groovaly element:
Tilt on removable feet
Wide forward-leaning browsing module for approximately 180 LP records, raised on removable feet.
Records rest on a raised rear base and tilt gently forward when pressed, making album covers easier to view without removing them from the piece.
Its open upper surface can host a turntable, compact equipment, books or selected objects.
Together, these details create a focused record stand combining generous LP browsing, display and everyday listening use.
Material & Craft
Alton is designed in Paris, France, and crafted in France and Portugal from White Pearl Valchromat, a high-density wood-fibre material coloured throughout with organic pigments.
Unlike a simple surface finish, Valchromat carries its colour through the material itself. Its dense structure, velvety texture and mineral matte appearance give Alton a quiet depth and a refined tactile presence.
As part of the Golden Age Collection, Alton is defined by rounded forms, sculptural volume and carefully finished edges. Each piece combines CNC precision, careful assembly and a protective matte finish designed to preserve the material’s soft character while making the surface more resistant to everyday use.
Minor variations in tone, texture or finish may occur due to the nature of the material and small-batch production. These variations are part of the character of the piece.
