A Layered Golden Age Piece for Vinyl Collectors

A vertical Golden Age piece for LP browsing, 7-inch singles, open storage and display.

James is part of the Groovaly Golden Age Collection: a family of sculptural pieces inspired by the warmth, curves and listening culture of the 1970s.

Designed as a vertical composition for vinyl collectors, James brings together Tilt, Split, Bloom and Chest in a layered structure that combines LP browsing, 7-inch storage, open storage and display.

Instead of hiding records in tight shelves or closed storage, James brings them into the room. LPs remain visible, accessible and easy to explore, while surrounding compartments create space for books, accessories, personal items and everyday listening essentials.

At the base, Tilt keeps a generous LP selection visible and easy to browse. Records rest on a raised rear base, creating the impression that the collection is lightly suspended. To browse, simply press the top edge of a sleeve: the records tilt gently forward, making the cover easier to see without removing it from the piece.

At the centre, Bloom brings Groovaly’s signature browsing gesture into the composition. The drawer opens into a fan-shaped arrangement, allowing you to flip through around 50 LPs like the pages of a book and recognise each album at a glance.

Alongside Bloom, Split adds two open compartments for books, storage baskets, small objects or decorative pieces, keeping everyday items visible without closing them away.

At the top, Chest completes the structure with dedicated storage for 7-inch singles, hi-fi accessories, personal items or everyday objects. Its lower drawer includes three internal compartments proportioned for singles, while the upper shelf can host equipment, books, baskets or display pieces.

Together, Tilt, Split, Bloom and Chest make James a layered Golden Age piece: a place to browse LPs, store 7-inch singles, display objects and give the collection a strong sculptural presence in the room.

Crafted from White Pearl Valchromat with rounded forms and a protective matte finish, James carries the distinctive character of the Golden Age Collection: soft geometry, tactile materiality and a warm sculptural presence.

James unfolds as a three-level vertical composition:

Base level — Tilt
Wide forward-leaning browsing module for approximately 180 LP records.

Middle level — Split + Bloom

Split
Two open compartments for storage baskets, books, small objects or decorative pieces.

Bloom
Signature fan-drawer for approximately 50 LP records. The Bloom drawer features Groovaly’s patented browsing mechanism — FR2504530.

Top level — Chest
Drawer-based storage module with three internal compartments proportioned for 7-inch singles, holding approximately 300 singles in total. Chest can also be used for hi-fi accessories, personal items or everyday storage. The upper shelf is suited for books, baskets, compact equipment or decorative objects.

Together, these modules create a layered vertical composition combining LP browsing, 7-inch storage, open storage and display.

Material & Craft

James is designed in Paris, France, and crafted in France and Portugal from White Pearl Valchromat, a high-density wood-fibre material coloured throughout with organic pigments.

Unlike a simple surface finish, Valchromat carries its colour through the material itself. Its dense structure, velvety texture and mineral matte appearance give James a quiet depth and a refined tactile presence.

As part of the Golden Age Collection, James is defined by rounded forms, sculptural volumes and carefully finished edges. Each piece combines CNC precision, careful assembly and a protective matte finish designed to preserve the material’s soft character while making the surface more resistant to everyday use.

Minor variations in tone, texture or finish may occur due to the nature of the material and small-batch production. These variations are part of the character of the piece.

Additional finishes may be introduced progressively.

Delivery & Availability

James is delivered as carefully protected, fully assembled elements.

The Bloom fan system is assembled at home using the included components and instructions.

For safety, wall fixing is strongly recommended for this three-level composition. The wall-fixing method is explained in the assembly instructions.

Wall brackets, screws and plugs are not included, as the appropriate fixing hardware depends on your wall type.

We deliver within approximately 4–12 weeks, depending on destination and availability.
